LDSBBS was originally established in 1993 by Jim Morris and Brad Wardle. They had been looking for a system that they could incorporate or create that would allow administrative members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to communicate electronically and share information. Both men worked at Fresno State University, Fresno, California and were heavily involved with technology and the emerging Internet.
